St. Peters Church was first mentioned in 1135 but was destroyed by fire in 1280. The current building stands as one of the finest examples of high Gothic architecture, notable for its beautiful choir dating back to the era of Valdemar Atterdag. From this period, there is also a mural depicting Valdemar Atterdag alongside Queen Helvig.

One of the church's most remarkable pieces of furniture is the pulpit, crafted in 1671 by the Holbaek-master Lorentz Joergensen. Additionally, the church houses numerous sepulchral tablets, adding to its historical and artistic significance.
