Galleri Emmaus is located in the heart of Haslev and occupies a charming main building dating back to the 1920s, which was formerly utilized as a folk high school. The premises are set amidst a spacious park, complemented by an apple orchard and ample parking facilities for visitors.
Modern and Classical Art
Gallery Emmaus showcases both contemporary and classical artworks, with a special focus on pieces that explore meaningful themes—from the beauty of nature to profound existential questions. The gallery represents over 30 distinguished artists and hosts guest exhibitors each year. The artworks displayed vary in style, ranging from abstract to nearly photographic figurative expressions. Visitors can find paintings created with oil, acrylic, and watercolor, as well as lithographic prints, drawings, and sculptures crafted from stoneware, glass, and bronze.
Craft Shop
Within the gallery, there is an engaging craft shop offering a variety of items, including posters, art cards, handcrafted bags, scarves, and unique jewelry.
Church Art
Given the gallery's engagement with existential themes, it also serves as a center for religious art. A dedicated section features a permanent exhibition of church-related artworks by around 20 notable artists.
Excursions
Galleri Emmaus is a favored destination for groups and companies. Throughout the year, visitors can book guided tours along with options for lunch or coffee. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages to enjoy either indoors or outdoors.
