Visit the beautiful park at Bregentved Estate – one of Denmark's larger estates. Enjoy a stroll through the stunning garden and take in the impressive view of the magnificent main building. Bregentved Estate is a significant agricultural and forestry operation located in central Zealand near Haslev. It has been owned and inhabited by the Moltke family since 1746.
The main building features three wings over two floors. The north wing dates back to around 1650 and was redesigned in 1735 to include a Baroque chapel. The south and east wings were added in 1890 in the newrococo style, designed by Axel Berg. All three wings are protected as historic structures. The estate is instantly recognizable by its large, distinctive copper spire.
The estate covers 6,338 hectares, with 3,284 hectares devoted to agriculture and 3,254 hectares to forest. It also includes 163 houses. Bregentved Park, dating from the 1750s, spans 35 acres of mainly landscaped grounds. This park preserves several features from its Baroque garden origins, including a canal island, a fountain, a sandstone bridge, and an obelisk.
While the estate itself is not open to the public, visitors are welcome to explore the park via its landscaped trails. The park is accessible on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 9 am until 6 pm or sunset, whichever comes first. Please note that the park may be closed during hunting season from September to January.
