This church showcases exquisite details spanning several centuries, including beautiful murals, intricate baroque woodcarvings, and various cultural events.
Church of Our Lady in Vordingborg
Constructed from large medieval bricks, this church reflects a history of restoration. The nave and aisles date from 1432 to 1460. Around 1600, the tower was added, and the vestry followed circa 1700.
An impressive altarpiece, a wood carving by Abel Schrøder the Younger, was installed in 1641 along with an ornate choir screen designed to separate the clergy from the congregation.
Among the frescoes, notable are the depiction of the birth of Jesus and a caricature of Jeppe Murer.
